“Go through the camp and command the people, ‘Prepare your supplies, for within three days you will cross the Jordan River and begin the conquest of the land Yahweh your Elohim is ready to hand over to you’”.
Joshua 1:11 (NET)
Many struggles would be more bearable if we knew from the beginning that they were not permanent. If you knew that you only had to suffer for a while because you are walking towards change, would you not keep telling yourself, “I can do this another day because I am sure my moment of change will come!”?
The children of Israel, on the brink of crossing the Jordan river finally saw the endgame to their wandering. After years of walking and hoping for the best, they were finally able to hear the words, “you are about to cross!” Imagine the joy of realizing they were about to enter their promise in a matter of days…three days to be exact. I believe their joy produced renewed energy and a buzz of excitement as they made preparations to go from years of manna to the abundance of the land.
This is an encouragement to those waiting for change. No matter the struggle, regardless of how long and arduous your journey, keep in mind that the wilderness was never your final destination. Therefore, since the wilderness experience not permanent, keep walking in the confidence that His promise is secure. The seemingly elusive change is still possible if you persevere. As you courageously approach the threshold, be assured that you will crossover!
Journal/Prayer: Father I will continue my journey to possess my place in Your plans. Help me to remember that you are with me even in the wild, uninhabited places and that this experience is not permanent. Help me to look forward to your promises, because Your Word is sure.
Today, no matter what I face, I will steadfastly pursue my purpose
