“I am the true vine and my Father is the gardener.”
John 15:1 (NET)
If you really want to know the importance of the husbandman or gardener, imagine a garden untended: overrun with weeds, broken fences, open to pesky creatures that destroy fruit before they have a chance to mature and become ready for harvest and ripe fruit wasted or stolen. Such would be the state of our lives were we not in the care of the Great Husbandman.
I have seen gardeners at work, bent low with strong and gentle hands tending to the needs of all the plants: watering, trimming, removing weeds, protecting from parasites. The true gardener pays attention to his plants, expecting growth, examining mature plants for any signs fruit, lovingly talking to tender shoots, encouraging them to survive their fragile days and make it to maturity.
It is a privilege to have a gardener that cares so much. He carefully places us in the light of His Son, nurtures our growth, prunes us and showers us with blessings. He smiles as we blossom into production and gladly creates opportunities for our fruit to be shared and bless others.
Prayer/Journal: Father I appreciate your tender care which is seen and felt in every area of my life. May the fruit of my life be a testament to your love and grace.
Today, I blossom under the care of my Father!
